I love living near water. The above photo is from our deck on the Truckee River in Reno, Nevada. We have also lived on beautiful Balsam Lake in Northwestern Wisconsin, the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities area and now on the Gulf of Mexico, Bayfield Bay, in Marco Island, Florida. Growing up I spent each summer on Bungalow Island, Clearwater Lake, Annandale, Minnesota.

I began my love of education as a young child who set up a classroom rather than playing with dolls. During my high school years, I began volunteering in elementary classrooms to help students with reading challenges. Now, 40 years later, I enjoy the passion I have for innovative educational practices that will prepare children for the future ahead of them.
